CCTV images released as part of investigation into assault in Southampton

Officers investigating an assault in Southampton are releasing two images of a man they would like to speak to.

We received a report that at around 2:00am on Friday 26 September, a 19-year-old woman was walking along Commercial Road, at the junction with Above Bar Street, when a man she did not know punched her in the face.

The man then left the scene and the woman was helped by a nearby security guard.

The woman sustained a black eye from the assault.

Officers have been conducting a number of enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage from the area, and have identified a man they would like to speak to who may be able to provide more information.
